"Character and personality in wine comes from the imperfections of nature" - Chief De Bortoli winemaker, Steve Webber

From Treviso, Italy, Vittorio De Bortoli arrived in New South Wales in 1924, starting a new life as a settler in Griffith. After a few years he purchased a fruit farm and saw an opportunity creating wine from Shiraz grapes. The De Bortoli family is now a household name, with bases in the Yarra Valley and internationally. They’ve made an empire for themselves with hard work, determination and a few billion kilos of plump, juicy grapes.
