Product Details

Made in France, the Le Petit Chavin Non-alcoholic Merlot is ruby red in colour with an intense aroma and rich mouthfeel. A classic French Merlot expertly crafted from grapes picked overnight to take advantage of the cooler temperature leading to a more robust flavour. After the winemaking process is complete, the alcohol is carefully removed to ensure the same full-bodied, premium French wine experience is abundant in this wine. This alcohol-free Merlot is also Certified Vegan, Halal Certified and low in calories.

Cloudy and Odd

This did not smell like wine at all. Had an odd sweet cordial type odour and tasted even more odd than it smelt. Looked sort of milky in colour which was offputting as well. Not sure if it was rancid so I didn't drink any of it.

Too much like grape juice

This wine was like bad tasting grape juice. Not dry enough to seem like red wine. I’m a red wine drinker and this was not for me.

Just grape juice

We were optimistic that something labelled 'merlot' would have a distinctly different flavour from the various non-alcoholic shiraz out there.

Not so much. It's purple, like a merlot, but other than that there is nothing about it to distinguish it from plain old grape juice.

Thick and sweet

Had a very odd taste, kind of creamy and undrinkable. I'm sorry to say I poured it down the sink. Hoping it had gone off and this wasn't how it was meant to be 😞

So far the best I have tried…

This wine certainly smells like wine (not juice). It only has a slightly “juicy” aftertaste; unlike many of the others I have tried. So far, this is the front runner in my race to be alcohol free
