Created in the 1940’s at Trader Vic’s, one of the world’s first Tiki restaurants, the Mai Tai is an iconic blend of tropical flavours. This version of the rum mocktail combines Lyre’s non-alcoholic alternatives to white rum, dark rum and orange liqueur. Mixed with the citrusy tang of fresh lime juice and some sweetness from the syrups, the result is a delicious and refreshing mocktail that continues to be popular today. For the best experience, serve in an old fashioned glass and garnish with a lime wedge and sprig of mint.
INGREDIENTS
30 ml Lyre's White Cane Spirit30 ml Lyre's Dark Cane Spirit
30 ml Lyre's Orange Sec
30 ml Fresh Lime Juice
7.5 ml premium Almond Syrup
7.5 ml white sugar syrup*
METHOD
- Shake all ingredients together and strain into an old fashioned glass.
- Add more ice and garnish with lime wedge and sprig of mint. *To make a sugar syrup: mix 50 ml warm water with 50 grams white sugar and shake to dissolve.
