Q. What would you say is the main thing that makes your non-alcoholic sparkling wine stand out from the rest?
A. The taste. When famous wine writer Jancis Robinson’s website called it the best alcohol-free sparkling wine hands down, maybe the best alcohol-free overall, she wasn’t kidding.
"Dry, with decent, crunchy, ripe-apple fruit. It was very frothy when poured, but the bubbles were fine and lively and it wasn’t uncomfortably frothy in the mouth. It is, hands down, the best alcohol-free sparkling wine I have ever tasted, and one of the best alcohol-free wines I've tasted overall." - jancisrobinson.com
Q. What are the additional benefits of being Organic?
A. Eradicating nasty chemicals from the wine world.
In an industry rife with wineries that spray all kinds of chemicals on their grapes, and use a plethora of nasty ingredients in their wines, the Thomson & Scott brand really is a breath of fresh air.
In order to be classed as a fully organic wine, the winery must meet with strict requirements and grapes must be grown without herbicides, pesticides or other artificial or synthetic chemicals. Noughty are 100% natural, baby!
Q. Where do you see your brand in 5 years’ time?
A. Having shifted the global drinks industry to a Noughty way of being.
Amanda sure knows how to aim high, but she and the Thomson & Scott team are well on their way to achieving global domination. Their wines have been featured in an array of articles and received glowing reviews from The Times, The Guardian and Cosmopolitan. More people than ever are turning towards non-alcoholic wine as an alternative to the hard stuff and Noughty really is at the forefront of the industry.
Q. What was it that first prompted you to delve into the world of non-alcoholic beverage making?
A. The idea of bringing the party (Champagne-style!) but without the alcohol.
Noughty is just that. She's well-dressed in a gorgeously designed bottle. She's bubbly and bright and lights up the room. BUT she doesn't wake up the next day feeling like it's the end of the world with a clanging headache.
