The Noughty Rouge Shiraz is produced with Syrah grapes from the dryland vineyards in Darling, South Africa and aged for 12 months in French and American oak. The grapes are grown in strategically selected sites, which get the warm sun and cooling effect of the Atlantic Ocean. This is a well-balanced red wine that is deep ruby red in colour with notes of ripe red fruit, crushed black pepper and French oak tannins. It is also low in sugar and low in calories.

It's not my favourite red wine, but it hits the spot when I want a glass of red but need to stay alcohol free. It actually smells like a syrah. It tastes a bit more more like a lighter cabernet or merlot, but I'll take it.

This one was really good. Many non and low alcohol wines are too sweet and you get more a fruit juice than red wine taste. This one was missing that sweetness and the taste was very close to a nice red wine. I'd certainly have this one again.

This actually tastes like wine!! I love red wine and this is a pretty good substitute for the real stuff.
Not too sweet -I've been ordering non-alc reds between 2.5 - 2.8g sugar per 100ml and found them to be fairly dry, not like grape juice. It's got pretty robust oak that helps it feel warming, without the alcohol, but isn't as well integrated as a regular wine. (Something I've found pretty common in the non-alc reds I've tried though). And enough complexity and tannin to make you forget it's alcohol free.
Just right for curling up by the fire to keep warm on a cold night. I've bought this twice now :)
