The Noughty Rouge Syrah is produced with Syrah grapes from the dryland vineyards in Darling, South Africa and aged for 12 months in French and American oak. The grapes are grown in strategically selected sites, which get the warm sun and cooling effect of the Atlantic Ocean. This is a well-balanced red wine that is deep ruby red in colour with notes of ripe red fruit, crushed black pepper and French oak tannins. It is also low in sugar and low in calories.

1. Mulled Wine

Ingredients:
• 750ml Thomson & Scott Noughty Rouge Syrah
• 1 orange
• 4 whole cloves
• 2 star anise
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey

Instructions:

Pour the Noughty Rouge into a saucepan over medium heat. Add orange slices, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon. Simmer gently for 15–20 minutes. Sweeten with maple syrup, then strain and serve warm with a fresh orange slice or cinnamon stick for garnish.

The best non alcohol red for me

I have decided to reduce my drinking. I have had a drink most days for the last 50 years. Very hard to find reasonable non alcohol red. This wine is acceptable once you get used to it. It's no Bordeaux but at least gives something that is not too sweet or cold and fizzy. And you can drink as much as you want!
