Whether you’re having birthday drinks at home or heading out on the town, these extra special non-alcoholic drinks will give your birthday the air of celebration it deserves.

Champagne is at the heart of any celebration – but why stop at a glass of alcohol free bubbles? To bring some extra fizz to your birthday, elevate a premium sparkling wine by using it as the base of a very special mocktail.

Non-Alcoholic Champagne Mocktail

With literally hundreds of alcohol-free spirits on the market, you are spoilt for choice. You could add a sugar cube and a few drops of Angostura bitters for a classic Champagne mocktail or go French, by adding a dash for your favourite alcohol free gin.

But, if you really want to impress, I’d recommend a Grand Royal. Add Lyre’s Orange Sec (a wonderful zero-alcohol Triple Sec/Grand Marnier alternative) to a flute of alcohol-free sparkling wine and garnish with an orange twirl.

If you’re looking for the best alcohol free alternatives to Champagne I recommend these options from Sans Drinks:

Thomson & Scott Noughty

Made from Chardonnay grapes, this sparkling wine is pale in colour with an extra dry, crisp taste. It is also Certified Organic, Certified Vegan and low in sugar.

Wild Life Botanicals Sparkling Blush

With delicate, champagne-like bubbles, this blush sparkling evokes rosehip tea, strawberries as well as Cornish orchard fruits; crab apple and red apple. Vegan friendly, low in sugar and packed with plan powered health benefits.

Barton & Guestier Alcohol-Free French Sparkling

From one of France’s oldest wine houses, this is a sophisticated French sparkling – the ideal alcoholic-free alternative to French Champagne. It has super fine bubbles, a delicate palate and uplifting finish.

Mojito Mocktails

You can’t rush the making of a good mojito mocktail, which is why they make a fabulous birthday drink – just like the guest of honour, they are worth waiting for!

When it comes to alcohol free Mojito’s – many bars and restaurant have been passing off sugary lime juice and crushed mint leaves as a virgin mojito. But, since the advent of alcohol free spirits there is no need to miss out on that rum kick!

The Lyre's White Cane Spirit is the perfect substitute for white rum, and the ideal base for your Mojito, especially when combined with the perfect Good Cocktail Mojito Mixer.

All you need is love and Mojitos sign

Non-Alcoholic Margarita Mocktails

A big pitcher of Margaritas is a great way to get a party started – especially a birthday party!

For a non-alcoholic version that is guaranteed to hit the spot, try Naked Life’s ready to drink Margarita Spritzer. Serve over crushed ice in classic Margarita glasses, rimmed with salt and garnished with a slice of lime. Delish!

Naked Life Spicy Non-alcoholic Margaritas

You can ratchet up with a Naked Life Alcohol-Free Spicy Margarita or go for your own concoction using Mr. Consistent Margarita Mixer

Gin Mocktails

Gin has been having a bit of a moment. In fact, that moment has now been going for the best part of a decade. Gin mocktails have become so popular that a whole array of botanical twists have emerged – including many that are alcohol free.

For an extra special birthday G&T, try mixing your favourite zero-alcohol gin with a premium tonic such as Strangelove Dirty Tonic

If you're looking for a pre-mixed G&T then I recommend Lyre's G&T ready to drink cans. It has all the classic notes of citrus, juniper and highly refreshing tonic, simply chill and pour and enjoy. Add to ice in a highball glass and add a slice of grapefruit or lemon peel and a sprig of rosemary.

Of course, if you want to mix your own G&Ts, you can't go past the Iconic Gordon's 0.0 - it tastes just like the original gin, with a smooth texture, and a complex flavour profile featuring bold juniper notes and a subtle hint of citrus.
