A cocktail that’s stood the test of time, the Japanese Slipper first made its debut in 1984 and has since become a classic. Now, it’s getting a sober twist with the finest non-alcoholic spirits from Sans Drinks. Perfect for those who want to keep things light, refreshing, and hangover-free, this vibrant green drink brings all the flavour without the booze.
Ingredients:
-
30 ml Lyre’s Orange Sec (a cointreau substitute)
-
30 ml Melon Syrup
-
45 ml Pernelle Cuvée Genesis
-
10 ml fresh lemon juice (optional for extra zing)
-
Ice Cubes
-
Melon wedge or cherry (optional, for garnish)
Method :
-
Chill your glass: Take any coupe or martini glass and fill it with ice or keep it in the freezer to keep it nice and chilled while you start with the cocktail preparation.
-
Prepare your shaker: For the cocktail, take a shaker and add a handful of ice cubes.
-
Pour the ingredients:
-
30 ml Lyre’s Orange Sec
-
30 ml melon-flavoured syrup
-
This will create the base of your drink, adding vibrant and fruity flavours altogether.
-
Shake it up: Now's the time to shake up all the ingredients, close the shaker and shake generously for about 10-15 seconds, chilling the drink completely and slightly diluting it for the perfect balance.
-
Strain into your glass: Get the chilled glass out of the freezer or remove the filled ice, then strain the shaken mixture into the glass using a cocktail strainer. A vibrant green liquid settles nicely.
-
Top with Bubbles: Gently pour Pernelle Cuvée non-alcoholic sparkling wine over the top to your preferred volume, adding the bubby touch to your cocktail. For extra zing, you can also add fresh lemon juice.
-
Garnish and serve: Your perfect alc-free Japanese Slipper is ready to be served, just add a melon wedge or even a twist of lemon on the rim for a visually appealing look. Serve immediately and enjoy!
