Why Chardonnay is Australia’s Favourite Wine

It’s fair to say that Chardonnay has been on a bit of a rollercoaster over the last few decades. First it was up, then it was down and now it’s way, way up. I’m delighted to see that Chardonnay is back in the top stop. It is an elegant wine with a complex flavour profile and full body.
Here are some of the reasons I think Chardonnay is Australia’s number one wine… and why I believe Newblood Chardonnay is Australia’s number one alcoholic-free wine.

Why non-alcoholic Chardonnay is the safe choice
Whether you’re rocking up to a BBQ, a dinner party or afternoon tea, a chilled bottle of Chardonnay is a safe bet. It’s easy to drink, it’s unpretentious and bursting with flavour.
Newblood Chardonnay takes this to the next level. Being alc-free means that you could even show up to a kids’ playdate with a bottle in your handbag without raising any eyebrows. It’s also the perfect alc-free wine to introduce your sober curious friends to because it smells and tastes just like a classic Australian Chardonnay.

Alcohol-Free Chardonnay for every season
A perfectly chilled Chardonnay is an easy choice on a warm day, you can drink it straight out the fridge, it’s crisp and refreshing and it is a good base for a spitzer or mocktail if you want to add soda and ice. Alc-free works well in warm weather because it won’t dehydrate you in the same way that traditional wine will.
Many of us swap white for red during the winter months, but thanks to its full-body and complex flavour profile, Chardonnay is actually a great choice when the temperature drops. In fact, when I’m curled up with a book and a blanket, Newblood Chardonnay is my go-to wine.
Chardonnay Pairs well with lots of food
Another reason that Chardonnay is such a popular wine is it’s versatility – it pairs well with a wide variety of food. Whether you’re serving up mid-week vegan fare, a three-course feast, or a Sunday arvo grazing plate, Chardonnay will stand up well to different flavours and textures. It will even elevate a plate of hot chips.
In particular, Newblood Chardonnay pairs well with creamy pasta dishes, aged cheese, souffle and fruit cobblers.
Good value Chardonnay

Chardonnay comes in at different price points, but it’s possible to get a good quality bottle for a under fifteen dollars.
