What alcohol is Aperol?

Aperol is a popular apéritif designed to be consumed before dinner to help stimulate the appetite by promoting digestive enzyme production. It has a distinctive bright orange appearance and a bittersweet taste. Aperol is less bitter than Campari and generally more universally enjoyed. It is also best known as the key ingredient in Aperol Spritz. Is there alcohol in Aperol?

The Aperol alcohol content is 11% ABV. However, we stock several non alcoholic substitutes which offer the same or similar taste including alcohol-free premixed, ready to drink versions. Our alcohol-free range includes the popular Lyre’s Italian Spritz, Vera Aperitivo Classico and Abstinence Blood Orange Aperitif. Our alcohol free versions also contain far less calories than the alcoholic versions. The Lyre’s Italian Spritz for example contains 24% less calories than traditional Aperol.

What is the Aperol spritz recipe ml?

The traditional Aperol spritz recipe is 30ml Aperol, 100 ml Prosecco and a splash of soda water. However, you can vary the ratio of Aperol to Prosecco to suit your own taste preference. On top of this, Campari has the edge on bitterness, while Aperol is slightly sweeter.

How many calories in Campari?

There are a lot of calories in alcohol, so non alcoholic Campari alternatives are naturally lower in calories than the original aperitif. Lyre’s Italian Orange contains 70 per cent fewer calories than Campari at 75 per 100ml (23 calories per 30ml serve).
