10 Low-Calorie Drinks To Try This Summer

Jan 14, 2022

There are many reasons that people are choosing to cut back on alcohol, and health and wellbeing are often right at the top of the list. But when I talk to my Sans Drinks customers about the specific reasons they are choosing non-alcoholic drinks, calories is one of the most common answers.

It's difficult to know exactly how many calories are in a glass of wine because winemakers are not required to list calories on their products. But we do know that alcohol is a highly caloric ingredient. According to Healthline, a standard glass of Chardonnay (125mls) can have up to 103 calories, which is 82.2KCals per 100mls.

Most of our non-alcoholic wine has fewer calories than traditional wine because removing the alcohol also removes the bulk of the calories. Giesen is a good example. Giesen 0% New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is low in calories at only 13 calories per 100ml - 80 per cent fewer calories than a traditional Sauvignon Blanc.

What is a 'low calorie' beverage?

According to Food Standards Australia, a product needs to be 19 calories or less to be considered low calorie. We've used this guideline to create low-calorie sections for all our drink categories, so whether you are looking for low-calorie wine, low-calorie beer or low calorie mixed drinks we have you sorted.

But with so many options, you might have a hard time choosing! To make it easy, I've picked out my top ten low-calorie drinks for summer.

1. Ms Sans Cosmopolitan Premixed & Alcohol-Free

What customers are saying: "This Cosmopolitan cocktail is shockingly good for being alcohol-free. It is not actually a mixer, it is the entire Cosmo, love that I don't need to find any AF spirit to add to it. I just added a slice of lime and enjoyed it watching the SATC reboot."

The range: There are currently three mocktails in the Ms Sans range. As well as the Cosmopolitan we have Ms Sans Mojito and Ms Sans Margarita. All three are low calorie.
