Dr Zenzen 0.0 Dornfelder

- De-Alcoholised Wine
- Made in Germany
- ISF Certified
The Dornfelder grape is native to Germany, thriving in cold climates, they produce an excellent and robust red wine. The Dr Zenzen 0.0 Dornfelder comes to us from a historic German winery called Einig-Zenzen. This is an expertly dealcoholised red which is rich and smooth with subtle notes of pomegranate, red currant, ripe cassis and berry flavours. It has a floral nose and a balanced acidic palate.

Very drinkable, perfect with cheese and biscuits or red meat. We're going to try ot cold in the summer.
Has reasonable body, which is hard to find in zero alcohol reds. I sometimes 'blend' with less full-bodied reds to vary flavours.

I thought id try this as the much demanded Newblood was out fo stock. This wine has an unusual smell a bit vinegary, the taste is unusual, reminding me of a corked wine, and didn't replace the glass of wine I am missing. My husband reckoned if you drink with your eyes closed it tastes of ribena.
Very sour, hard to describe, but did not enjoy it and would not buy again.
